A cute read but not sure if it's enough for me to keep reading the series. Too much was predictable or just too far fetched. <Spoiler> I would have loved more of an explanation for the coincidence of everyone knowing person who works at a university in Iowa, but they're all from PA.  </Spoiler>

Small town, slow burn, single dad nanny romance with a shocking plot twist, this book was right up my alley. Asher was a great MC. I like how he was mature and his relationship with Olivia was so cute. I also really like how this book showed a positive co parenting relationship with no bad blood or drama. Phoebe was likeable as a whole. I was not a big fan of her "clumsiness"  it seemed forced and unnecessary. I like a slow burn book but there was a point where I wish there was a bit more excitement before it got to the main plot twist. One other thing I was not a fan of was I wish we got to see a little more of their professions. It was a nanny book but I wish we saw more of her and Olivia. It was there but also could have been more. All in all, great book. I still have not fully read all of Corinne Michaels backlog so there were some characters I know are from other books (does not hinder the reading experience) but I wish I had read the others first. I also can't wait to read about the other members in the Whitlock Family. I loved Addison from the Rose Canyon series so I can't wait till she gets her HEA.

Asher Whitlock needed a nanny and fast. His nine-year-old daughter Olivia was coming to stay with him and she needed someone who knew how to communicate in ASL. There's only one person available that fits the bill...Phoebe Bettencourt. Phoebe didn't have the best track record when it came to being responsible for young children in the past, but her father vowed that she was up to the task. Ash had no other choice. Phoebe had her reasons for leaving her Audiology grad program, but not willing to reveal it. There' s a bit of an age gap between Phoebe and Asher, but not cringingly so. Their attraction was too great to deny. At the heart of the entire story was Olivia. She was first and foremost for Asher and later Phoebe. In an interesting plot twist, there was less than six degrees of separation between Phoebe and Asher's sister and led to the biggest plot twist that explained all the reasons why Phoebe returned home. The author handled the harder issues (check the content warnings) well and gave the characters the resolution they needed to heal and move on.

Casting Desiree Ketchum and Zachary Webber as Phoebe and Asher respectively was a great choice. Their gift of narrating lent to bringing the story and characters to life.

I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.
