Yet another read that didn’t tell me anywhere that it was a companion novel. Sighhhh. The love story was nice and I liked the setting. Would I have liked the description to say ANYWHERE that it connected to another book? Yes.
Highly recommend reading book 1, I think I would’ve enjoyed this more if I had read it.

Quick, easy, fun read. The storyline was interesting and I liked the main characters.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook!
The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil was just okay for me, and I ended up rating it 3 stars. I went in expecting a swoony, emotional romance, but it just didn’t deliver. The chemistry between the characters felt flat. there was no real tension, no banter, no angst… nothing to make me root for the romance. I found myself wishing for more spark and connection. That said, the premise was fun and I did enjoy the narration, but overall it didn’t quite hit the mark.

This book frustrates me endlessly. A promising premise that I was excited to read ultimately fell short due to a series of miscommunications and inadequate mental health resources. Having the main character have a life coach, whom she tracks down and follows, is not only problematic but odd. Sybil Rain was a main character who just did not keep my attention. I did not like any of the characters, and this book just made me mad. The characters acted far too young for their age! Like, y'all are almost 30 and we're acting like this? Also, some parts of this book just took me out (specifically Nikki's character from "Loveby" going back into the franchise - very self - inserty). I wish we spent more time really understanding more of why Sybil felt like she had to run away all the time, but it feels like its's explanation is in one chapter. The narrator did a good job and really immersed you in the book; it was the plot itself that was struggling. The writing style is good, but the plot lacks.
