This was a really good book within the second chance genre. Secrets from the past broke them up and when they met again the chemistry was just too strong to fight. This is a really good book and a definite must read.

There was no resolution to what happened at their wedding. He didn’t really care about what she wanted or how she fit into his life until the end. She had no backbone and she didn’t have any real “close” relationships with anyone except Sutton and even that didn’t feel real.

Everything was just so surface level.

✨I fled minutes before my wedding when I learned my fiancée was being paid to marry me. Ten years, too many crappy exes, and one drunken decision later, I’m now his boss.✨

This was my first book by the author and I enjoyed it. I have come to love second chance romances! Aggie is such a badass! She’s one of my top favorite FMC! She was witty and independent and knew her worth.

I did not like Ansen at first but that was obvious given the circumstances! As the story goes on he truly redeems himself! I liked seeing the growth that both Aggie and Ansen went through. It has been 10 years since they had seen each other and they were different people.

I loved getting to know each of her brothers and their issues through Aggie’s POV and I hope we get to read more on them!

If you love these tropes, then check this book out:
✨Second Chance Romance
✨Small Town Romance
✨Forced Proximity
✨Boss/Employee
✨Runaway Bride

After the initial betrayal I wasn't sure how he could redeem himself but their journey made me rethink. I can't say that there was grovel but at the same time it was healing. They were both too young when the betrayal happened, which in retrospect wasn't quite betrayal as the hero didn't have malicious intentions towards heroine, quite the opposite. I loved their second chance where choices were made fully knowing what they wanted and that was what mattered. I do believe that if they did get married when they were young, the marriage wouldn't be so successful as they hadn't found themselves yet. On to the second book of this series as I'm truly curious to see what happens with the rest of the brothers.

Holy freaking plot twist!!!!
I absolutely loved this book and the MC’s plus the side characters. I’m definitely going to have to read the whole series! This was a great second chance romance. At first I was mad her brother meddled in her business but the growth Aggie and Andean went through was so necessary for them to have their HEA. This was my first Marie Johnston book but I will definitely be coming back for more.

Aggie and Ansen were supposed to get married, but Aggie overheard a conversation and fled with his dog. The story picks up years later when Aggie is opening up a rescue and needs help, and it turns out Ansen needs help too. They have a lot to overcome, but they did not stop thinking about the other; I love how he realized she cared for his dog, just like he did with her books. Neither one of them had a stable relationship to look up to or family around them, and I love that we got to see that grow in their new town. The ending of this book started out very similar to the beginning, but they have grown since then. I can’t wait for Cody’s story and the rest of the families journey in town.

A Reckless Memory might seem like your typical romance novel, but it is much more than that. It IS a romance novel, complete with HEA and enough steaminess to satisfy your cravings. Cowboys, tension, strong characters, everything you could want and expect from a Marie Johnston novel.

But it’s also an amazingly empowering story about a strong and complex woman who is standing up for herself in a male-dominated family, a male-dominated community, and a male-dominated industry. Aggie is the type of heroine that I would have adored as a young woman; she’s a woman who loves her man but she’s a woman who is making a life for herself on her terms. I love that Marie’s novels aren’t about a helpless woman being rescued by a big strong man: these novels are swoon and hot and page-turning and driven by women who are grabbing life by the…cow bells.

The only problem you will have with A Reckless Memory is that you won’t want to put it down - I stayed up way too late to devour it…but that’s what coffee is for! You won’t be disappointed!

This book is the first in the Oil Knights series and this is a second chance romance. This book was a first for me from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book follow Aggie Knight and Ansen Barron and how 10 years later their paths cross again. I think Aggie is a very relatable character and she can hold her own when those around her treat her like she doesn't know what she is doing. At first, the author makes it seem like Ansen is a character you're not supposed to like but as the story unfolds he redeems himself in the best way possible.

I received this book as an ARC and I would recommend reading this book. This story has everything you could want from a second chance romance story.

I love a good second chance romance, especially when the male of the couple has to redeem himself in the eyes and heart of the female main character. Ansen is definitely a male character who has alot to fix, when he encounters the one that got away ten years after their supposed wedding, which didn't happen because Aggie his bride to be learnt that he had been paid by her dad to marry her, but he still loved her and was determined to win her back after unexpectedly getting a job at her animal rescue. Aggie was a determined independent woman who hadn't been appreciated by her family and underestimated. I enjoyed reading this book, I definitely enjoyed reading whether Ansen and Aggie could put the past behind them and get their happy ending. Thank you to Marie Johnston and The Author Agency for the ARC.
