It鈥檚 a 2.5. But I can鈥檛 bring myself to round all the way up. It鈥檚 a blatant Sherlock Holmes fan fiction that doesn鈥檛 even change some of the names, and for a outspoken and strong girl she certainly crumbles like a saltine cracker whenever a guy looks at her. I liked Thomas as a character and I enjoyed their banter. I also liked the twist at the end. Her father鈥檚 final decision was so out of character from what we knew about him and the medium didn鈥檛 seem to really hold a necessary space in the book. I was frustrated because I had such high hopes for this book and it didn鈥檛 meet any of them. Also that鈥檚 what she calls flirting??
However despite all the issues I had with it, I did like the plot overall and after the first 1/3 of the book I liked the writing and the characters I thought were well developed.
I was planning on reading the rest of the series, but now I鈥檓 glad I didn鈥檛 buy this or any of the other books. I may give it a second chance at some point but it鈥檚 very unlikely.
