This was a great continuation of the series. It had plenty of suspense and humor, while still being able to pull off romantic tension between Charley and Reyes...you know, the Grim Reaper and the Son of Satan. Cookie was awesome as always and I enjoyed seeing Charley's interactions between a mostly disbelieving Swopes and a new-ish believer in Neil. Jumping into book 3 very soon.

“He was like chocolate-covered heroin, and I was an addict through and through.”

Whoa! I loved this book much more than the first one--which def came as a surprise because sequels are usually super difficult for me to get through. Not this one, though! Nope! Nuh-uh!!
I absolutely love these characters, especially the gangbanger ghost Angel. I really hope we will get to learn more about his story before his fatal drive-by shooting. Immediately after I finished this book I was craving the third one like a...well, like a drug. Charley's exploits are super addicting and I cannot wait to read more about her in [b:Third Grave Dead Ahead|12043770|Third Grave Dead Ahead (Charley Davidson, #3)|Darynda Jones|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1310823404s/12043770.jpg|15899099].

A great, quick read. I love Charlie's voice and the slow reveals of the 'world'. The mystery was good too, had me guessing until the very end.

After reading the first book in this series the urge to rush out and get the second was undeniable, and after devouring it in a day I am impatiently waiting for the third to arrive…quite simply this series rocks!

The wit and action I loved so much in the first installment of this series returns with perfect balance in this installment. Wicked humor, steamy sensuality and a fast paced plot blend perfectly together amazing leaving just enough room to expand the world and get a better look at some character’s pasts and history. My only complaint about this installment it the ending; I don’t particularly like cliffhanger endings, of which this was not. This was more of a drive off the cliff entirely, have the moment of oops and then ending. To say it left me both eager to read the next book and frustrated that I couldn’t have it in my hot little hands NOW would be an understatement.

I give this book four happy stars ★★★★

I liked 2nd book better than the first one. Charley got some backbone and her panties actually stayed on and she said No to Reyes for once... 😅 She was a lot more focused on her actual job as a PI - finding missing people and solving murders and getting her ass kicked a lot! 😂
The book was funny, Charley is otherwise one witty woman, except her obsession with Reyes. And I just adore the snarky bumper sticker and t-shirt slogans at thr beginning of each chapter! 😆
"What happens if you get scared half to death, twice?" - t-shirt
