This book did what I hoped it would. It addressed the many off outing things that occurred in the first novel and set the main characters on a path to fight for equality and justice for all people. i do think that the author drew out the “big reveal” far to long. As the reader I figured it out in the first book. Dragging it out this long seemed pointless and irritating. I am glad I decided to read this one.

it’s still good, just so many little side quests and made the book feel a little long. like how are they still in school but also traveling to far off lands every other chapter. doesn’t mean I’m not hooked, I’m totally going to read the next one lol
also I think the book is a WWII allusion? (is that the right literary device?) Like it’s definitely kinda like world war 2 but in a fantasy setting

A great second book. Genuinely made me laugh out loud and grieve alongside the characters . Beautiful story being told, even if it’s a bit trope-heavy. The characters and messages make up for it, in my opinion. The third book is already on its way and I’m super excited.
I want to love this series but this book moved so slow in the first half and I just kept getting frustrated because you know what is going to happen - the author just keeps delaying and delaying and it feels like nothing is progressing. I will read the next but I have lost some of the excitement I had coming out of the first.
This book was soo good. I can’t believe she was wand fasted to a random stranger!?!?! This book had a really good pace and really interesting side adventures and sub characters.
