Give Me a Reason

A.L. Jackson

3.72 AVERAGE

"I feel like I found the one person who can see me after all this time."

Edgy, intensely emotional, and scorchingly passionate romance in an unforgettable first in the stand-alone Redemption Hills trilogy.

An irresistible mix of light and dark, depravity and innocence, seductive and sweet.

No one writes such visceral emotions that grab on to you, that make you feel connected to the characters in every heartbeat, and make it impossible to tear yourself away until the very last page like A.L. Jackson

Give Me a Reason(Redemption Hills, book 1) is not to be missed, and I cannot wait to see what comes next!

This book put me in such a reading slump! I hated the idea of picking it up but it was $20 so I powered through. The writing style was so irritating and cheesy. I dont think there was one full sentence in this whole book.

Whenever anyone spoke in this book it was incomplete. Like for example Trent would say “Been like this a long time” like every once in a while is fine but this man was just annoying. Then after something like that she would add a line with just one word then another line with just one word. Until half the page is just one word lines then there is more dialogue.

Then the back says enemies to lovers but like where? This was insta love 100%. I don’t think I will be reading anything else by this author.

The narrative style was unique, and didn't quite land for me. But that's kind of a personal preference. I was definitely interested in the plot, but did see most of the "twists" coming.

Overall I did like this book. I thought the dynamic between Trent and Eden was really cute and I loved her relationship with his son. I really liked the angst in the beginning but it did not last as long as I would have liked and I thought some of the writing was very cringe. Just the way they would speak to each other through monologues was just a bit much but I still enjoyed it!

3.5
And 1 star gone cause I could not handle the caveman speech

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I mean it didn't wow me but I finished it. The ending did surprise me though. Was not expecting that. Not much to say about really other than it won't be the first book I will recommend

Now initially throughout this book I was going to give it a 2.25 Stars but the ending boosted it up to 2.5. Now with this author's writing she would forget "I "every time Trent would be speaking and I don't know if that's just how he talked but it bugged me so bad and also there will be words repeating and it was cute when it was Gage talking cuz he was a child but other than that no. Other than that it was a really good book I would keep thinking it was very wordy and lengthy but it was because I was reading when I was basically Delirious in the middle of the night so it's not on her it's on me. Now on to the good stuff this book was actually not what I was expecting I thought I was getting a spicy single dad romance but I started reading and it was trauma heavy but I was rooting for them so bad. Gage is the smartest cutest little boy I've ever seen and the way that Trent and Eden loved him was just Swoon Worthy. That plot twist at the End of This Book threw me for the biggest Loop I had my suspicions when it came to his father and his death but I did not expect what was going on with Harmony and her whole entire situation but I'm happy that it ended well they finally get to live a happy life and I loved their proposal it was the sweetest thing ever. I don't know if I'm going to read the next book which is Judd's story but we'll see cuz I really loved Judd in this book he was amazing.

Another amazing book by AL Jackson. I absolutely ADORED this story. The chemistry between Eden & Trent was so darn hot!! This single dad, enemies to lovers story made my week. And don't even get me started on the narration, Both Connor Crais & Desiree Ketchum were amazing! And btw, Gruff ex-biker Connor is crazy hot! Do yourself a favor - listen to this audiobook immediately! You won't regret it.

Here I thought it was impossible to fall even more in love with A.L. Jackson’s writing. Give Me A Reason has proven me wrong. This book stole my heart! A favorite read of 2021!

The first book in the Redemption Hills series is a beautifully written forbidden, single dad romance filled with delicious tension, swoon worthy and heartfelt moments and exceptional character chemistry. The way A.L. Jackson built the drama and suspense and just the overall flow of the story is outstanding. From the very first page, she had me clinging to my kindle for more. Give Me a Reason felt like classic A.L. Jackson with a grittier, edgier, MC twist...and I am here for all of it!!

It doesn’t get better than the push and pull between Trent and Eden. These two were electric. Their chemistry was felt from the very first meeting. Opposites in every way but they were perfect together. Even as they tried to deny their feelings, there was no stopping this connection.

Trent’s intensity drew me in immediately. There was a broody darkness to him that you would only get from a past full of heartbreak and pain. However, you see so much tenderness and love when it comes to his son, "his reason". I’m sure there were hearts in my eyes during every sweet exchange with Gage - who by the way is the most adorable little boy. Their relationship absolutely melted my heart.

Eden is an incredibly selfless, caring, morally good heroine. I loved her. Her heart and her light radiated off the page. The way she helped her dad and the way she took to Gage really showed how incredible she was.

This has to be some of A.L. Jackson’s best work to date. If this is how the series begins, I can’t wait to read more from this world. In the meantime, I’ll be here crazy in love with Trent, Eden and Gage.
