But the thing about vulnerability? It didn't always make you weak. Sometimes the only thing it did was make you fight harder. Make you more determined to go after what you need in your life. -Eden

In the beginning,  I was really loving the writing style but as the story progressed, it became too much. I started to skim words because there was so many that felt unnecessary. It made me start drifting while reading.

I enjoyed Eden's friend, Tessa. She had some funny lines.

Mr. Lawson...I found him to be very yummy.
And I also liked Eden. I actually loved them, but I think the writing style really bogged down my emotions because it became exhausting to read.

Quotes I wrote down:
"Wow, aren't you ever the knight in shining armor?"
"Naw, not even close, but for you, I just might try."

"Heaven. It'd be heaven, gettin' you for one minute while on my way to hell."

"You are everything I didn't know I needed." -Eden
"You are everything I will never deserve"- Trent

I was fighting for them. I really was, even though they had some odd words while in spicy moments. Literally one of my notes I put down while reading- the s/x scenes could've been better if there wasn't weird convo's during it.

Also, Gage. This is Trent's son. I did this as a buddy read and had to ask them since they have kids, but how Gage spoke in this book didn't seem right for his age. My friends also agreed.

Altogether, I liked their story. I do have book 2 and 3 already, so I will continue.

Wow!!! This book was a surprise. I struggled with it at the start - the writing style, the amount of inner monologue and with the connection between the characters. Wasn’t until about 35% I felt I was getting into it and I’m glad I did. I did find myself skimming over some parts though, especially the letters to Eden.

I've read a few books by this author and have enjoyed them all. I listened to the audio on this, I believe I've listened to the male narrator before, not sure about the female. The only complains I have is that sometimes Eden's name sounded like Aiden or even Ian. It threw me. I liked the story, and the twists it took.

The writing style was horrible and made me struggle to pick up the book. Hate that I bought 2 in the series and won't read either one.

This book had an interesting story line. I am not a huge fan of the main trope, but I was pleasantly surprised that another trope that I love was eventually represented. This book was gripping at times and blended themes of heartache, hope and healing with a bit of a dark edge to it. I liked that the two main characters were both broken in different ways and eventually found solace in one another.

I liked the plot and characters a lot, but the writing style was almost too descriptive and wordy.  I felt it didn’t flow well and distracted away from the story itself.  Hopefully the rest of the books in the series are written a bit better.

An Amazing READ!!!

This book has all the FEELS. Captivating and consuming characters with an intense and engaging storyline. I enjoyed the romantic aspects of this book but the incredible bond between this family is just heartwarming.
Remarkably written and addictive.
Congratulations
