Give Me a Reason

A.L. Jackson

I loved this book so much. Eden was amazing, the pace of the story was very well-balanced for me, and I just loved everything about it. I've been on a reading slump lately because nothing could catch my eye, but this book got me hooked. It hurt a lot, not gonna lie, but it was something that made me fell alive at the same time. Because I was invested in how the characters would be able to move past the hurt, move past the pain and find their hea.
I loved this book. And it seems like a very long time since the last time that I loved a book like this, so thank you, A. L. Jackson because you gave me something wonderful.

I wanted to love it, because Trent started off so good, but:
The whole time he was “obsessed” with her and saying he would stay, and fight and all that, but that’s all it was, talk, cause the second something happened he ran or he pushed her away. In the end SHE had to be the one to fight for him, after all she found out, all that affected her and only her, she had to be the one to stand there and be like “pls love me”.

Nah uh. It was not bad, and sure, the twists were good, but Trent let me down in the end and I can’t forgive that. I need my MMCs willing to fight and despite being called a “sweet warrior” all the time, all he was was a runner and avoider.

This book is so poorly written you can genuinely skip multiple pages at a time and not miss a thing

So many incomplete sentences, and too much inner monologue this book had serious potential.

I just finished reading 𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙈𝙚 𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣 by A.L. Jackson, and wow, it hooked me from the very first page! The tension and emotion between Trent and Eden were just incredible. I couldn’t get enough of their story! Trent is this brooding, tortured guy with a complex past, while Eden is sweet and kind-hearted, seeing right through his tough exterior. Their connection? Absolutely swoon-worthy! The chemistry between them is off the charts, and tension builds as you turn each page. And let’s talk about that plot twist at the end—WOW! I thought I had it all figured out, but it still surprised me. The twist added so much emotional depth to the story, making it even more gripping. I found myself completely unable to stop reading! I loved watching their relationship grow, moving from all that tension to tender moments. Eden’s arrival encourages Trent to confront his past, and you can see how he grows throughout the book. Plus, the romance? Just perfect! I also appreciated the relationship between Trent and Gage. Seeing him navigate fatherhood while dealing with his own struggles was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Eden’s support for Trent and Gage added much depth to their connection. If you’re in the mood for a suspenseful romance filled with heart and a plot twist that will leave you speechless, I highly recommend 𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙈𝙚 𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣! You won’t regret it!

🎧️Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum narrated this story incredibly well, bringing the intense drama and emotions to life. It's a great listen!

I think there's so so much potential to this book but it was completely butchered.

The storyline was there, the character development was there but the timeline of everything was NOT there.

The insta-love was not it. It was only chapter two and boom they have a thing for each other. Not build up to it at all. There was also so many instances where it would be beneficial for the other's POV of the situation but it was moved on so quickly.

I also find Trent's way of talking a bit annoying. I notice he doesn't go "I love her" but instead he goes "Love her". It's like he doesn't like using the word "I".

I don't want to be such a downer on the book because it honestly was such a good plot but just could be written so much better.
