I love Heather Webber's books! The characters become friends, and this one has that "found family" element I love so much, along with a good dose of lore and a little sprinkling of magic. I would love for the whole story to have had just a dash more of that magic, but I enjoyed the story very much as is!

A sweet Southern story full of love lost and found, magic, second chances, and family!
This is my first time reading Heather Webber and I will definitely be reading her others!

This is my third Heather Webber book and I very much enjoyed it. She brought the southern charm I've come to know and love into this story. This one dives into some southern lore surrounding a "woman of the lake" who is known to be magical. We explore bonds of friendship, family roots and the general meaning of love. Although it could be heavy at times I think this contemporary novel is definitely worth the read!

This is a sweet , whimsical story. About family and the strength of love. With a little bit of small town "lake magic" thrown in. There I nothing earth shattering that happens but it can definitely make your heart swell. I would recommend this to fans of Sarah Addison Allen. Perfect as a pallet cleanser after too many dark/intense books or to break a reading rut
After having really enjoyed an earlier book by Webber, I was disappointed in this one. I think it might have been better as a short story or novella. I just felt like there was not much going on throughout most of the book. There were also not many magical elements to the story, just one really. The only interesting part was the surprise at the end.

I'm not 100% sure when or how this book was added to my TBR shelf since this has not been the type of books I have recently be reading. I'm not upset about it though.
It was easy to follow, but the ending really was an "aaahhhh that makes sense" type of ending. It was kind of a fun surprise at the end that I didn't even put a lot of thought to throughout the book.
I definitely liked it.
