Entertaining but very formumatic.

I kept wanting to love it. But I also kept not connecting to the characters and felt like they just needed to talk to each other.

The Lights of Sugarberry Cove is third in Heather Webber's standalone magical realism books. Set at a more leisurely pace, but still has all the magical realism and feels that I have come to expect. Mothers, daughters, sisters---tenuous relationships caused by old hurts that must be worked out when two sisters return to their childhood home to care for their sick mother. The story did wring my heart out, then lifted me up as the characters each find their place in life. A feel good read that left me smiling.
The audiobook truly brings the story to life.

Looking for some light in your life? Visit Sugarberry Cove, or even just read this book. A family torn by an accident eight years finds the potential to heal after coming back together when the mother has an heart attack. Written with Heather Webber's sure touch of creating characters that we care about and a sprinkling of magical realism. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this delightful book in exchange for an honest review.

This book wasn't exactly my cup of tea but it wasn't a bad read by any means. The story followed two sisters, Sadie and Leala and there mother. With a slight touch of magic and a lovely small town summer vibe this book was quite a charming read.

A enchanting story centered around family, love, and heartache with a touch of magic. A story whose words were weaved in such a way that reader is taking the journey right along with the characters. The investment one feels for the characters is real, all emotions are felt within these pages. A story that will have the reader smiling through their tears.

Loved this story!!! Such a sweet tale of finding yourself when you stop long enough.

Although sweet and sappy, this story of two sisters was heartwarming. Using a touch of magical realism, Sadie is believed to be saved from drowning by the Lady Laurel, the lady of the lake in Sugarberry Cove. Sadie left to try to discover why she was saved, leaving her mother and sister, Leala behind. After her mother has a heart attack, Sadie returns and rediscovers what home truly feels like. I really enjoyed this story and it got me out of a reading slump. I found the ending a bit unsatisfying, but I think that's just a me thing.

It's definitely the kind of story that makes you want to visit a small town with a famous festival.
