I was so excited to read this but it just did not deliver unfortunately. The first short story was the best of the three but his writing style is just not for me and reading the three stories together his writing got very repetitive. I also was not a fan of the back to back pregnancy horror or the use of pockmarked in every single story ummm yeah unfortunately this was a huge let down

The other stories besides the titular story are somewhat a little disjointed.

First story (things have gotten worse since we last spoke) was definitely my favourite. Morbid and disturbing. The other two (the enchantment and you'll find it's like that all over) were pretty solid but not as good as the first, hence the rating. Good book to read in an evening - had some interesting concepts but mainly elicited an emotion of "what the hell". I enjoyed the authors note at the end talking about what he saw each as being about.

Titular story had some unsettling stuff but would've been better if there were more conversations and it escalated a little slower
Second story was stupid idk not into it
Third story was fun until the annoying "social commentary" that pissed me off and reminded me of the movie Opus (insult)
In conclusion, probably won't seek out any more of this author's work
