This was really good, I don’t know what I was expecting but this was true horror. So intricate and twisted in so few pages, I wish that this was a book of short stories so that I could have more of his writing.

"What have you done today to deserve your eyes?"

The main story, *Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke* was pretty terrible. The two other short stories were a bit better, the stars are mainly for those.

titular story is so nasty in the best way, but the other two were forgettable. this felt like a collection riding on the coattails of a novella, where LaRocca ran out of steam as he went along.

SPOILER but uh cw for parasites??? i’m absolutely terrified of them and had no idea going in how much of a role they played in the first story. i mean the goal was to disgust and horrify and it definitely worked on me.
