I really enjoyed this one. I forgot just how f-ed up Hardin was and how much he and Tessa fought. They really did have a toxic relationship. I loved how this book had different POV's other than Hardin's or Tessa's. It was very interesting to get a glimpse into some of the other characters worlds, particularly Steph and Molly.
Even though this book is a partial re-telling of Hessa and how they began, being told from Hardin's POV didn't make it feel like much of a repeat, and it was so interesting to read things from his view. Anna Todd did a wonderful job portraying the story from his side and giving us more of a glimpse into his state of mind at the time.
The ending was great as well, another couple of POV's and then the two Hessa chapters. I really love how things turned out for these guys after everything they went through. A very well told story and a great way to end the series. Well done Anna Todd. #hessa

I’d really like to know why Anna Todd decided to waste our time giving us background information on Natalie, Molly, Melissa and Steph, then skip the scenes I was actually interested in hearing from Hardin’s perspective from After (him blowing up Tessa’s relationship with Noah and Tessa finding out about the bet), only to waste even more of our time with follow ups about Zed, Landon (HELLO, he gets two of his own damn books, what is the point of this?!), Christian and Smith.
EDIT: now that I’ve started Nothing More, the first book in Landon’s duology, I’m even MORE mad about Landon’s chapter in this book because it’s the EXACT SAME CHAPTER that Todd uses to open Nothing More.

2.75⭐️ now tbh i did not see the need for this book or why it was called 'before'. i first read it and got bored but finally picked it back up five months later and still didnt see the need for it in the after series
