It's giving Nina Dobrev during The Vampire Diaries. I finished this book within 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon, so safe to say this book kept me enthralled. I loved having two very flawed characters who both clearly had a lot to work through. This is slow-burn, second chance done spectacularly. I would love to see Ava Wilder tackle other entertainment industries

i know GILLOVNY when i see it!

Thanks to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Dell and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy.

Lilah and Shane meet at a casting call for a new TV series. Lilah is a trained actor while Shane was discovered while working as waiter. They immediately have chemistry and are cast as the leads for the new series. Through the years on the show, they experience ups and downs, quitting the show, rejoining the show and more. Can these enemies to lovers learn that they were never enemies at all?

I enjoyed this one. The push/pull between Lilah and Shane was great. I also enjoyed the timeline flipping from then and now. It kept me wanting more.

Another solid read from Ava Wilder! They always hit the spot when I’m in the mood for an angsty, emotional read. I love how raw and real her characters feel. At times, they drove me nuts with how petulant they could be but the emotion behind it felt so believable that I kinda got it too.

For as emotional as it was, we still get some great banter and even better spice.
My only complaint was the pacing. I wish there was a little more balance of the hate vs them reconnecting and healing. It felt a little stilted with Lilah admitted her feelings the night of LNL, I didn’t feel like they were fully there yet.

If you’re looking for a second chance romance with enemies to lovers this is definitely a great choice!

These two co-stars definitely have some steamy tension right from the start. The way their relationship mends and grows is actually heartbreaking and beautiful. Their witty banter was perfect! I also loved the dual timeline it really helped make the conflict more emotional.

I’m also just a little over the miscommunication trope at this point and I’m not the biggest fan of second chance romances since that always seems to be the reason for the original split. But I still really liked this one!

Ms Wilder here can write!!! Seriously, i picked this up to get out of a slump, not expecting much but instead finding really well written characters and a great relationship arc! Seriously, these two go from exes with history to finding common ground in a way that feels so real, and I love how when they actually make the leap to being together. it’s not rushed or unexpected. It’s just right. I also really appreciate that there’s no sense of inevitability or that these two were made to be together. Genuinely, it feels like they are together because they have a history of choosing each other even when it’s inconvenient and measy and continue to choose each other when it’s not. And I liked that the book mentions how hard it is to know if someone is The One. Because you don’t know. Shane and Lila just felt like realistic people dealing with real issues, and I couldn’t put this book down.

Abby Jimenez's review was on the front of this book at my local library, so it was an automatic pick up for me. Ofc, based on said review, it's no surprise the ending, but what I *was* surprised by and liked so much was the character's personal growth and development! Definitely an enjoyable read.

Not a fan of this one. Lilah and Shane had some fiesty chemistry, which striked me as unauthentic and I just couldn't get past it. I found the MCs toxic and just so ridiculous, it was physically difficult to read this. Do not recommend.
