More like 2.5 stars. I feel like this book had the potential to be a 4 star book. It had interesting characters, an intriguing plot, and expertly crafted slow burn. The ending, however, was deeply unsatisfying. It felt like the tension and emotional depth that was created throughout the book like the slow inflation of a balloon wasn’t just popped at the height of the story, but rather deflating instantly and leaving the reader with disappointment instead of closure.
