christie’s done it again ! when she convinces you that you know exactly who it is and then nope, wrong ! love that and she is perfect at writing that trope. the story was definitely different to the poirot style, instead involving government schemes and spies but i really enjoyed it and it worked well for the two detectives/spies tommy and tuppence. they were incredible! i loved their characters and chemistry, reading a friends to lovers was not what i was expecting from this book but here we are, and the love confession was adorable. reading their romance where the love is implied through their teamwork and how they care for each other, wonderful!
Was not all the impressed with the novel by agatha christie! My fiance is really into christie and loves the mystery. I on the other hand got confused with all different characters with very similar names. She entertwined them too much but maybe that is what she was trying to do all along...confuse the reader; me :)

Flippant dialogue, absurd coincidences, extreme luck of the main characters... a perfect example of a cozy mystery.
Yet, exciting and funny and a good riddle.

I don’t really like the Tommy and Tuppence books (aah goes and hides under table) but (don’t worry) I read them all multiple times they are by Agatha Christie ‘s hand and as such offer great mysteries to puzzle your detective mind.

The Secret Adversary
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Never tell all you know-not even to the person you know best.”
Is it great? No, but I was thoroughly entertained by Agatha Christie’s second book. I love Tommy and Tuppence. They’re inexperienced, but their determination is admirable. Tommy and Tuppence balance each other out well. Tuppence has a whimsical way about her and is rather smart. Tommy is a realist and is unexpectedly clever when he needs to be. In typical Agatha Christie fashion, I thought I knew who the culprit was, but I was completely wrong. She does an excellent job of leading you in a certain direction, but also drops tiny clues as to who the real villain is. You think you know whodunnit, but in one final twist, Christie pulls back the curtain and reveals everything. As Tommy and Tuppence explain how they solved the mystery, little details are brought up from earlier chapters and it all makes sense. I thought The Secret Adversary was delightful and I will definitely be reading more Tommy and Tuppence mysteries!
If you love a classic whodunnit or have wanted to start reading Agatha Christie, then this is a great place to start!
