The story was improbable and dramatic but lots of fun. I leaned towards 3 stars...but I love how I never manage to guess Christie's endings. An extra star for the twist at the end!
I'd not heard of Tommy and Tuppence before reading this novel and I have to say I would gladly pick up another. The pair of them are quite witty and I found the book most enjoyable when they were in scenes together. As usual with Christie she keeps you guessing right until the end. I do prefer Poirot but I would most definitely not turn down the opportunity to read any Christie novel.

This story, written about the couple’s very first adventure, is more action-packed than most of Christie’s murder mysteries, but it is still suspenseful, well-written, and filled with awesome characters. I was slightly disappointed for a moment when I thought I had figured out the solution, but never fear, Agatha Christie subverted my expectations like the master mystery writer she is. If you’re a Christie fan, this book is not to be missed.

With every book I read of Agatha Christie’s, I fall more in love with her and her characters.

Fun, exciting and adventurous. it's all I wanted from a mystery thriller. A decent early effort from The Queen of Crime.
I loved the banter between Tommy and Tuppance! Things got kind of twisted in the end and I had a bit of a harder time following along with what was happening, but overall I liked this one more than AC's first book - The Mysterious Affair at Styles. I want to read more adventures with Tommy and Tuppance. 3.5 stars
This was my first Agatha Christie. It was really fun. She had me guessing to the end who the culprit was. It cracked me up that the bad guys were Bolsheviks trying to start a revolution in England.
