The beginning was okay, but it went downhill from there. This book was way too long, partially because there were many, many baking scenes that did nothing to further the plot or build characters. I was also surprised at the amount of tragedy thrown into this. It deals with some really dark things that don't line up with the quirky baking vibe it wants to portray. I would recommend looking into the trigger warnings before reading this one.

This novel fulfilled my need for an enemies to lovers romance with a cute twist. It was more than obviously inspired by the Great British Bake Off, and that being said I didn’t find Dominic as… attractive? Because I knew who he was based off of being as grumpy, stubborn, & tell it to you straight as he was. But it was still super funny and cute and worth the time. I’ll admit I also blacked out on half the plot points making reading this super difficult, but it was good despite that.

This book was so sweet! It’s kinda long, and the romance takes awhile to prep but it delivers! The two protagonists were well developed and they handled their history and relational road blocks well. An opposites attract storyline. I wish I could spend more time with Sylvie and Dominic.

It was a cute story, just wasn’t my cup of tea. It jumped around a little at times, there were too many subplots, the chapters were really long, and it just took me a while to really get invested in the story at all. I did think it was cute and I enjoyed the ending, but took me a while to read and get into.
