Amazing, heartrending story. I was inspired and aghast all at once. I listened to this one, but I did not enjoy the narrator. She has a sort of Brooklyn accent and it didn't fit the story at all. It tended to draw me out of the story, making it somewhat difficult to fully appreciate Immaculee's beautiful, horrible narrative.

Its a great book for many reasons, really shows the horror of the Rwandan holocaust without describing it in too much detail, the emotions do it all for you. As an atheist though, the religious overtone of the book is a little bit hard to bear. While understanding that the author only survived the holocaust mentally through her strong faith, its a bit much to bear at some points.
