Well written, accessible, and very enjoyable. I'm yet to discover anything from any subject of human study that contradicts Buddhism.

3.5 the best job of helping me understand such complicated concepts to date. Fantastic if you’re interested in the topic.

The audiobook narrator was terrific

This is the second physics book I've read by Rovelli. I am not a physicist nor a scientist by training, but I find that Rovelli can sufficiently explain quite complex issues with surprising clarity for lay readers. I would recommend this book for anyone interested in some of the advancements in quantum physics.

RIGHT! She took me a month but she was worth it!

Disclaimer as this was read by someone with absolutely zero physics knowledge. But the writing style was really accessible and also quite poetic. Made me fall in love with science and even teared up a bit during one passage?

Highly recommend reading this out loud with a science-y friend/ family member as it’s much more fun to discuss the ideas and workout out what’s going on with a pal.

Some of this definitely went over my head but it was the chapter that he said was confusing so I’m going with it. Left me wanting to learn more, an absolute delight!

4 star rating bc she was a bit tricky for me.

I read these books backwards. This is a much broader look at a variety of theories and discoveries and his newer books are more focused on specific sections mentioned in this one (time, quantum mechanics).

Still really enjoyed it, but it’s important to remember the dominant Western narrative books like these reinforce for us. The idea that Western narratives are the only ones, and that only those people “discovered” all these fantastical things is false. It’s lacking. Many ancient scientific discoveries were made in Africa as well, but colonizers have done a good job at burying and destroying a lot of that history and evidence. Yes these discussed discoveries are important and advanced science at a global scale, but also yes there is more to this picture and history.

There's something new and brilliant about the universe to learn through this book - an attempt at explaining the Loop Theory.
