so how to criticize this book without being so cruel??
in short we have a cliché plot with immature characters that seem to have no real motivation throughout the plot. the plus of the whole situation, the guy is an asshole, he makes her apologize for his shit, curses her, proposes that she be his mistress, later then changes his mind and proposes that she convert and become an Italian to marry him, still want her to feel grateful for this super inviting proposal, she was a great asshole from the moment they met again in jail to the end of the book and that's it.
not to mention the fact that writing leaves much to be desired.
that's it, a complete waste of time.

“And you really are very beautiful, Olivia. I can’t take my eyes off of you.”

“Yes, it will be tough sometimes, but I adore you and you adore me. What we have is precious. You never forgot me. I know you didn’t. I never forgot you.”

“You are completely delusional if you think anything could drag me away from you.”

4.5 ⭐️. TL swan is probably one of my favourite authors so I know that I will always love her books and this one didn’t disappoint. I do love mafia books but I haven’t read them in a while so I’m glad to delve back into it.

Their first meeting had me hooked and Enrico was so dreamy

Read this first of the series DONT read the second book huge mistake on my part, by doing that it become way too predictable the main character was annoying because she just couldn't get that he's in the mafia and that he had to protect his family even her and Spicy is really good.

I kinda enjoyed the story, but there were some things that didn't make sense.

The heroine doesn't want a wedding planner because is too unpersonal but decides to let a girl she met a gym who have only spoke to her like 3 times be in charge (even thought we know better)

She has no regard for her security even though the hero has told her a million times they need to take precautions.

Then, you have to Italian characters named Seraphina and Sophia, Italian names are not with ph, it would be Serafina and Sofia. Since a huge part was that Olivia was not Italian, well at least her name was more Italian than the true Italian girls.

Also, who goes to a foreign country and doesn't even learn to say hello, or thank you in their language?

absolutely the most intriguing page turner that staying up past 1:30 am was so worth it!

I loved every single page of this book. Every word of this story. Enrico and Olivia are my new favorite couple! One revelation after another in this story keeps you transfixed and you can’t stop reading. I don’t want to spoil any part of this so I’ll simply say as Enrico Ferrara finds out more and more family secrets about his Italian family, he knows he should let his beautiful Australian fixation Olivia go……. but he simply can’t. Olivia begins to understand more about who Enrico really is…..but she’s already fallen hard for him. Is she ready to accept his world? Everything the Ferrara family stands for? I highly recommend this book but be prepared to stay up way late reading…..it’s that good.
