I didn't hate it, but I most certainly found myself rolling my eyes quite often. This book was so hard to get through and both characters were extremely hard to like. The h seemed more like a teen girl than a grown woman. She whined through most of the book and was a complete push over. I felt the author tried so hard to make us see her as this strong, independent and brave woman, but I just did not get that.
SpoilerOne minute she's okay with the life he lives and is willing to stay with him, then the next she asking why they have so must security and people around them.
Like girl! Are you down for the ride or no? He literally told you he the man so why you acting confused every damn he buy you something or see a gun? They constantly argued over the same stuff because she consistently wanted to act like they didn't just discuss why it was important to take caution and not trust every smiling face.
Spoiler Even if he wasn't a crime boss and just a regular wealthy man, they would still need to take precautions.

Naiwna max, dawała sobą pomiatać i manipulować.

Started off very promising but then became nothing more than a bad telenovela with a just-canceled ending. Skimmed the last 10% or so.

This book is more about the life of The Italian Enrico "Rico/Rici" Ferrara. But since this is a romance novel, his love story with Australian Olivia Reynolds is a corroborating tale. With all the betrayals and lies revealed after the death of his grandfather and father, his life has turned upside down by becoming Don. Being a leader of a powerful Mafia comes with family rules and unbreakable traditions that he must defy to be with Olivia as well as to protect her at all costs. This book is a page-turner all throughout with suspense, intense chemistry between Rici and Olivia, and the secrets surrounding the Ferrara family. I do have a lot of unanswered questions after finishing this book. Such as the devotion between Lorenzo and Bianca, why Francesca didn't receive any letter from her father, and more curiosity about the young Giuliano. I also felt that the Epilogue was a bit short but since there's a follow-up book with Giuliano in it, I hope that most of my queries will be answered upon reading his book.

Ah what can I say about this book? T.L. Swan does it again! She is a Chameleon of writing. Just when you think you know how she's going to write a book, she writes The Italian. Enrico is all Italian, how he lives, speaks, breathes and works. Olivia is a carefree yet grounded single woman on vacation in Italy when he is drawn to her immediately. He can't leave her alone and she decides for once in her life to just go with life. When their weekend is up, they promise to see each other again, however life gets in the way. Ernico's life is flipped upside down and he's forced to take over the family business. But then years late fate gets involved, or does she? They are too connected to even stay away from each other. Their love is so real, you feel it off the pages. The heat between these two will burn your fingers from holding the book. This book will have you laughing, crying and maybe a little screaming but through it all you will love that love always wins!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Dnf at 5%. Didn’t even finish chapter 2. First of all it’s a very big book for only 30 something chapters so they are long. Second of all in the first chapter (it’s considered small/medium) she only giggles, the amount of times that word appeared was weird. Third of all they set to meet at 10 and he arrived at 8.30 on her hotel bedroom, she just let him in and went to get dressed and he just made her bed without her asking (maybe the way I’m describing doesn’t look so bad but it’s worse and very weird in the actual book). And finally it was so sudden the way it started and apparently (read this in a review) they broke up for 2 years and she stays celibate and he sleeps around, I don’t know if it’s true or the circumstances but reading that I just couldn’t continue.

I loved the chemistry between Enrico and Olivia and I absolutely adored when Olivia held her own against Sophia, despite feeling way out of her depth. I will say that the ending felt rushed, but otherwise, enjoyable.
