A solid story featuring the toned down American version of Stieg Larsson's heroine Lisbeth Salander, Holly Gibney. As a fan of King's non-supernatural horrors (such as this) I enjoy the logical simplicity and the detective work that the protagonist does. I was not a fan of Gibney's repeated views on what she thought of Trump, Trump voters, masks and vaccines. We get it, you toe the party line. But why continue to bring it up and bash it?
I thought, and continue to think, that King who has made his own views known time and time again, should not have included the Covid time period as the backdrop of the story as it pulled away from the gripping story. Rather than simply getting to know the creepy motives of the antagonists, we are instead subjected to their distaste for vaccines and soon enough villainous characters become associated with some more conservative stances on things. I don't truly believe that King thinks conservatives are dummies, but it's hard not to think a character I like such as Holly Gibney thinks that I am a dummy. I'd like to think that many conservatives such as myself have much more amiable depth than simplifying us to distasteful political stances.
I'd like to think Holly was better than that.

Now this is a book that does multiple perspectives well. Good story with great storytelling. I enjoyed every second of it even the poopy parts
