Hey, remember Dream Daddy? I had almost forgotten about it. I loved the game, but I don't think it makes that much sense to make a comic out of. My favorite story was the second one, with Robert and Damien.
If you're a fan of the video game, you'll love to read this comic.
There are few meet cutes, as well as a few things that explain backstories about some of the daddys.
Cute.

I've never actually played the Dream Daddy game that these comics are based upon, so I will admit that my knowledge here is a little limited. Instead, I was curious about whether the stories presented here would be possible to follow without prior knowledge of the franchise, as well as whether it was still entertaining to go in fresh. Overall, I was reasonably pleased. The characters are varied, diverse, and interesting. I never felt like my prior unfamiliarity was held against me, and I found myself getting interested in the stories quickly. With that said, however, while newcomers can definitely enter into this comic without prior knowledge and not lose out on anything, there are a ton of different characters, so I imagine I still would have gotten more out of this graphic novel if I had previously played the game. Still, this was a fun time and I'm glad I gave it a shot.

A must-read for any fans of the Dream Daddy game!
This was absolutely adorable, hilarious, and so heart-warming. It follows the different dads of Dream Daddy - sometimes in relationships with one another, sometimes as rivals or friends - and is unapologetically diverse, queer as hell, and gorgeous, to boot. I love Dream Daddy so I was absolutely ecstatic to see this graphic novel's existence, and I'll definitely be purchasing a finished copy for my shelves when it releases!
Thank you so much to the publisher for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I did enjoy this graphic novel, especially the artwork. However, I definitely did not like all the stories. For me it was very confusing to jump from one story to the next without really having an ending. I just had a really hard time comprehending what was going on. Had the artwork not been this great, I think I would have given it 2/2.5 stars.

Really fun to revisit these characters after playing the game!
This comic book revisits the world of the "Dream Daddy" game. I love the fact that we have a new narrative about a bunch of pretty diverse cast of middle aged queer men.
The volume encommpasses 5 issues. Each issue is a closed story and has different dads in focus and is made by different creative team. I loved them all, had so much fun reading them. However, I must admit I enjoyed the first 2 issues ("Much Abird About Nothing" - focused on Craig and "Let the Right Dad In"- focused on Robert and Damien) the most but I might be biased since they were always my favorite dads. I also really enjoyed the creators' commentaries at the end, having insight into why they made some specific decisions, who's their favorite daddy, etc.

This was so fun! I hadn't played the game when I started reading this, even though it had been on my list since it was released, but I went out and bought it halfway through because I enjoyed this so much!
