A little bit slow and dull to me, although I came in already loving the characters from the game. Some of the art styles were cute, some didn’t hit for me. Overall I was kind of expecting more romance, but this is still enjoyable.

Having never fully played Dream Daddy (though I know the concept and the general gameplay), I was pleasantly surprised by the contents of the short stories contained in the graphic novel adaptation. The stories focused on the dads of the game, but while the game made a play of having the user-generated dad date one of the seven dads, the Dream Daddy graphic novel turns the focus to the different personalities of the dateable dads. You get a chance to see the dads as they are with their kids, at their jobs, or just plain having fun. What I enjoyed in particular was that while the book was not without romance, most of the issues focused on inter-personal issues with the dads, such as competition using their children or one targeting another over a misunderstanding. I especially appreciated, as someone who hadn't actually played the game, that I could still understand the different personalities of the dads and grow to appreciate them individually. However, I didn't give this a super high rating because there were certain aspects that I felt closed off from (such as some of the kids' personalities) becuase I hadn't played the game before reading the book.
I really enjoyed revisiting the characters from the game. This was a fun book of short stories; some read like fan fiction and others were prequels of how the characters became friends.

This was so cute! I love the Dream Daddy game so it's always nice to see new related content for it. This book is made up of five short stories featuring the dads from the game and their kids [and a couple of different cute dadsonas]. They were all really fun and have the same great dialogue that I love from the game, but the one where Robert thinks that Damien is an actual vampire was definitely my favorite. I would totally read more volumes of this if they decide to write more!

I didn't play the game that this is based on, so perhaps I am not the target audience. The back cover promises this comic to be "dreamy," but I contend it's only "dreamy" to preteen girls who know they like seeing boys kiss but the thought of actual penetrative congress is simply too much to bear.
However, Ryan Maniulit's illustrations are as lovely and as exciting as ever

RTC but basically reaffirmed my love for Craig and Damien as my favourite dads 😭
I had seen some gameplay for the Dream Daddy game and when I saw this come through the library where I work this afternoon I knew that my case of the Mondays was going to be improved. This was a blissful escape from work into some colorful, enjoyable issues. Each focused on a different dad individual adventures spanning from library science fair mayhem to slightly daunting college reunions to coffee shop commercials. If you are looking for a fun, lighthearted comic to read this is definitely it! Knowing about the game certain made me pick it up without hesitation, but I think the cover and a quick flip through would convince a lot of people too. It was exactly the pick-me-up that my afternoon needed!

Dream Daddy is a comics series based on the acclaimed Game Grumps visual novel video game. The graphic novel consists of five standalone stories told by the co-creators and various indie talents. I found the illustrations fantastic, and the stories were entertaining but I definitely wish I knew at the beginning that it was based on a video game. I was so confused at first, wondering if I was supposed to know these characters already, as the story often seems to drop in with not much intro. I enjoyed the LGBTQ representation in the stories – I’m sure it wouldn’t have come as a surprise to anyone else reading it who knew of these characters beforehand though! ★ ★ ☆ (2.5/5 stars)

This is a fun companion to the game of the same name. There are a number of separate but equally fun stories in this. Each of the stories has a slightly different feel and art style but they all work together within the volume. This is a nice graphic novel compendium.
