I'm usually a huge fan of Jodi Picoult's books, but unfortunately this wasn't the book for me. In the past, there's been a couple of her other books that I haven't particularly liked either. You win some, and lose some I guess.

The reasons I found myself not taking a shine to this was the style in which it's written. Normally I like a book that jumps from past to present and so on, but I found this a bit confusing. Then, not to mention the multiple topics being discussed - death, physics, Egyptology, bullying, weight issues and cheating to name the ones that come to mind. There was just too much for me to take in, I like how Jodi's books usually make me think and feel strong emotions, but I couldn't connect when I felt so bogged down. I know that if I wasn't listening to this on audio book I would've DNF for sure! I found myself glazing over at many times throughout the book.

What I really liked was Dawn's connection with Win and that part of the story. This was the most moving part of the book, and why I wanted to keep listening.

I can understand and see how much research has been done to write this book, and what Jodi was trying to convey with her message but it was all a bit too much for me.

Loved it. I loved the history and the knowledge that she poured throughout the novel. I never thought it was too much, but I can see if you only want a love story, then you don’t want all of that extra information. It was fascinating to me.

I like how much this book surprised me. It is heavy in Egyptian history and physics but I found that fun to learn about. The story took me down unexpected pathways and kept me engaged.

LOVED this book, but I don’t think I’d recommend it!  I listened to it as an audiobook which made it easier to get through the in depth passages on Egyptology and quantum physics.  This book made me feel, I gained knowledge, and it felt very relevant for someone who is in their midlife and juggling all the things.  Not the most popular on Goodreads, but I throughly enjoyed it and will be thinking about it for days.
