As usual, the author takes the worst moral scenarios you can think of and makes you wonder what choices you would make.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. I tore through it in one day. Fast paced, great writing, amazing narration for audiobook.

The few flashbacks in the story gave actual context and weren’t distracting or too long to divert from the tense plot.

Although the twist was relatively easy to discern - it was still quite the thrill ride. It was obvious the author was going for a very well-written story versus a shocking twist. That being said - for a certain demographic like myself, the ending leaves quite the impression.

This was my first Lucinda book - and I just started my second tonight 🖤

I guessed the ending early on but since it was a quicker "read" I finished it. My predictions were correct and I'm glad the main character made the choice she made to help Chloe.

This book is absolutely terrifying! Not like horror book terrifying but ....as a mother of a 17 year old son who is a junior in high school, who's father was violent and has been absent in his life .... that this is a very real possibility. This hits home in so many ways that it was hard to not put myself in Felicia's shoes. Which obligation weighs heaviest ...protect the one or protect the many? This book is devastating and heartbreaking, gut wrenching, and far too real! You have been warned!
