This book, and the trilogy as a whole, awoke very strong feelings within me. I am very happy that I read it, and perhaps never have I been as happy for grabbing a book (figuratively) than when finishing this book today. I felt a little suppressed by what a shitty world we live in when I started the last 100 or so pages but now, after finishing, I feel refreshed, hopeful, energetic, and motivated. I have never cried as hard while reading as finishing the few final chapters of this book.

This series taught me a lot about humanity and has, in some ways, changed the way I view myself. The three books are some of the best I have ever read. An exhilarating, exciting, heart-wrenching, educational, and triggering reading experience.

The final book in this series ties everything together nicely

To me, this was the best book in the series. It's absolutely packed with action and I was hooked. Aside from the page-turning action we get a touching species of individuals from a universe without humans, to learn more about dust and the answers to many a question, a beautiful interpretation on life and death, and a rich cast of complex and compelling characters.
The ending was very emotional and I will probably have to give it a third read some years down the line.

just re-read the series, just as good as i remember. i think the second time around, the end was ever so slightly less heartbreaking, as i knew what to expect. and in some ways, i'm ok with it. you have to wonder how deep/real their love really was, considering they were only 13.

Plot wise this was fine. Will and Lyra accidentally kill God then let all the ghosts out of ghost purgatory and Asriel and Coulter take out Metatron. And they have to be separated forever.

I really wasn't feeling Mary's chapters or the Mulefa. However what really did me in was Mary explaining that she discovered her sexuality at a school disco when a boy fed her marzipan. Wildly out of pocket and I haateeeedddddd all this stuff with Will and Lyra feeding each other fruit and fondling each other's Daemons.  Like jesus go through puberty in your own time please. If I ever see 12 year olds referred to as lovers again it'll be too soon.
