Despite its lengh, the story was easy to follow and interesting, mostly due to the character interactions. This may be a weird critique but I wish the murders happened a bit later on. They happen very early in the book, earlier than you would expect and after Raskolnikov recovered from his delirium, he didn't really seem to care that much about what he had done and the rest of the book is about completely separate things to the "crime." And the "punishment" part wasn't that severe either

He probably shouldn't have killed her.

It takes a little to get into it, but it’s worth it overall.

Loved reading Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
It is an unforgettable journey into the depths of human psychology and morality. The story of Raskolnikov, a man torn between his lofty ideals and the haunting guilt of his crime, is both gripping and thought-provoking.

Dostoevsky masterfully explores themes of justice, redemption, and the human capacity for suffering.

It’s been years since I read this book but I still frequently think about it. I’m going to reread it for a proper review soon but even 6 or so years after my first read, it’s still a favorite
