Like many of us, I first heard of Greta Thunberg when she became famous for her Fridays for Future strikes. In this book Greta's mother, singer Malena Ernman, offers us glimpses of what Thunberg's childhood was like.

This is a relatable story filled with family interaction, personal growth, and climate science.
I didn’t know what to expect when I began reading. Would it just be memoir-like stories? Would it be climate facts? It is the perfect blend of both. Knowing the family story gives the book a relatability that science sometimes misses. Their family shows the reader how the climate crisis can affect and influence an individual life.
The present a future in which the individual cannot make change without change to our governments and systems but also the individual is powerful and influential.
This book is a call to action.

This book is not what I was expecting but I loved the further insight into not only Greta but the entire family.
I enjoyed the information that was given and the insight into what had happened for Greta to be as passionate about climate change as she is.
I also enjoyed further insight into her families life and how they did not hide things such as depression, ocd, odd, autism, eating disorders and other mental health disorders.
This is a very moving book and I have nothing but admiration for the family.
Thank you netgalley for allowing me a copy of this book in return for an honest review

I feel like I got the message less than half way through. Also felt a little egotistical from the mother.

3.5 *** Kudos for the representation of mental health and climate activism.
The balance of the authorial voice tipped heavily to Marlena, and all events seem to be told through her eyes. Do not expect Greta’s voice to come through unless her mother quotes her.

An interesting story and an interesting topic. I loved how it was written and learn more about Great and her family.
The part about environmentalism is well researched and it made me think.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
