I didn’t connect with this one. This didn’t seem to have the same fire that I come to expect from Mariana Zapata.

Mariana is the GOAT. This was so good, the slow burn was perfection per usual & like how can you not love Josh & Lou those sweet babies. We love a grumpy, he falls first trope. A must read if you love Mariana’s work!

Η Ντιάνα στα εικοσιοκτώ της, θα γίνει κηδεμόνας των δύο παιδιών του αδερφού της, έπειτα από τον απότομο χαμό του. Η τεράστια αλλαγή στη ζωή της θα της τα ανατρέψει όλα και πλέον προτεραιότητα της, θα είναι μόνο αυτά τα δύο αγόρια. Στην χαοτική της πλέον καθημερινότητα δεν έχει χρόνο ούτε για φίλους, ούτε για διασκέδαση και φυσικά ούτε για έρωτες. Ο έρωτας όμως όταν θέλει να σε βρει, σε βρίσκει, είτε διασκεδάζεις σε ένα μπαρ είτε βρίσκεσαι σπίτι, έτσι θα γίνει και με την Ντιάνα, θα την βρει εκεί που δεν το περιμένει..
Πολύ το απόλαυσα το βιβλίο αυτό, περισσότερο και από το ‘’Το Θηρίο του Γουίνιπεγκ και εγώ’’ που είχε πιο αργό ρυθμό και πλοκή. Η συγγραφέας εστιάζει περισσότερο στις δυσκολίες που έχει μια γυναίκα όπως η Ντιάνα, να μεγαλώνει δύο παιδιά και πόσο μάλλον μόνη της, με μικρή βοήθεια από τους παππούδες τους. Αλλάζουν οι προτεραιότητες, δεν έχει καθόλου χρόνο για τον εαυτό της και όλη της η ενέργεια και η αγάπη δίνεται απλόχερα στα δύο της παιδιά. Το ρομανς υπάρχει φυσικά, αλλά όχι τόσο έντονα και τόσο στοχευμένα. Ο Ντάλας θα βρεθεί την κατάλληλη στιγμή στη ζωή της και θα είναι σαν να ήταν πάντα μέρος της.

Po raz kolejny, nie mam słów ,by opisać, jak uwielbiam wszystko co jest autorstwa Zapaty, a ta historia jest po prostu cudowna. Najsłodsza, najbardziej wzruszająca i urocza książka ze wszystkich, które przeczytałam dotychczas. Jeszcze ten epilog

Hmmm enjoyed the first half but it got kinda boring and slow around the 60% mark. It didn’t have to be that long tbh. Lou and Josh carried the book, they were the cutest kids ever. Kinda read this to see some Van/Aiden appearances!

This was too much slow and not enough burn.
they didn't even kiss until over 80% in.
the one spicy scene we did get was very cringey to me. It almost felt like the author was afraid to use any actual words for body parts with lines like "the place my underwear had uncovered" and "skewering my body with his"

right book, wrong time. liked the writing and loved the main character but i’m in a bit of a slump and it wasn’t getting me out of it.
