Very cute, enjoyable story! Everything seemed to fall into place perfectly and it was quite predictable so it wasn't a must read for me. I am still very glad a read it!

Simple, feel good story. A bit too predictable and cheesy at times, but I loved all of the descriptions of the food and cafe.

I think the book’s description captures what the book is about fairly accurately so I will jump to my opinion about the book.

I had high hopes for this book. I loved the title and the cover of this book but most importantly I liked the story plot from reading the back of the book.

This book is a slow burn similar to movies watched on hallmark. It is kind of cheesy. I did not connect with some of the characters. I kept waiting and wanting more from the story. This book reminds me of when you don’t want to watch TV but you want the noise on so you keep the TV on. This explains why I kept reading.

A sweet read. Love the magical realism, etc

I listened to this on audio, and very much enjoyed the southern accents of characters :) I was looking more for the magical realism to start cozy fall reading season, and was disappointed to not find more of that. It was still a great story of small southern town charm, romance, family history, growth, redemption, and love though. Think a bit of Gilmore Girls and Virgin River with magical pie from a small town cafe where everyone knows your name :)

With the high ratings I had expected more but it ended up being a light Hallmark read so I was a little disappointed. The high point was the magic realism in it- I thought the concept was really cool and the Southern town setting was perfect. Just wish it had a little more substance and wasn't so predictable.

I loved this story about the importance of family, home and choosing yourself!

ARC was provided by the publisher for an honest review.

This book really surprised me, in a good way. When I was about 50 pages in, I was sure it will be abandoned because I was bored with the story. And then, before I knew what happened, I was reading the last sentence of the book. Just like Wicklow, the town in Alabama where the story takes place, the book got a hold on me and didn't let me go. This book is adorable and sweet (sometimes a little too sweet). I didn't expect the bits of magic sprinkled here and there, so it was a nice surprise to discover them. The town of Wicklow is the place I want to move to - I want to know all of my neighbors and have everyone in town know my business. No one comes together in a time of needs as residents of such small towns. Oh, the gift and a curse of a living in such a place.
I loved all of the residents of this town that we got to meet: the old grumpy Mr. Lizenby who wasn't shy about expressing his opinions if he didn't like something, Faylene with all her gossip, little Ollie who was so precious, I just wanted to hug and kiss her a million times, and all the others. I only wish that recipes of all those pies were included in the back of the book.
