This is the first Heap-book I've read in the original language and I must say it was MUCH more awesome than in danish. While still awesome in danish the ambience translates badly so I got the full effect this time and it was just GREAT!!
Only one thing is better in the danish translation: the name of Jim Knee, in danish he became: "Flaske-John". wich is quite hilarious as it makes him sound like an alcoholic

Great ending of drawn out story lines
This was my favorite book since the first book in the series. All the lingering story lines have finally found a conclusion. The line between Magyk and Alchemie has reached a sense of rest, family problems have worked themselves out and most of all Septimus had grown into a more mature teenager.

Gave it a 3 star because it's Septimus Heap but failed to reach the line set by the previous five books. Sarah Heap's character is irritating. Septimus and Jenna have not grown much, Beetle did though and he rose up pretty well with various occassions. It's a children's book but for a fan who grew up with it, it was disappointing. Should we be expecting a 7th? Perhaps I've read too much GRRM that it somehow managed to raise the bar in my expectations of books like these.
