A reasonably enjoyable read, though flawed.

This book was amazing! A great improvement on the first. I had trouble putting it down, especially towards the end. What an ending! It dares you not to buy the third book. Good luck with that, because with the way this book ended you'll want to run to the bookstore to pick up Hourglass! Highly recommended to those in need of a suspenseful romance series.

A decent sequel to an otherwise basic premise for a ya/teen vampire series.

So what I did like:
- the additional story. I realize now that this is very much focus on a specific romantic relationship but I appreciated the addition of ghosts and other character focuses.
- the fake dating was really cute and I loved them more than the main relationship
- ya paranormal romance will always be something fun and entertaining for me so I did manage to finish this in a few sittings.

What I didn't like
- still don't care for the main love interest. I'm hoping in the next few books we'll see more content so i can grow to care for Lucas
- the Charity story was kinda boring ngl, i felt like maybe Gray put that in there to give more of a background for Balthazar but I think he was pretty lovable from day one. my favorite character honestly
- i wish there was more school in this boarding school setting.

Pretty good middle point of the story.
Bianca and Lucas hit more hurdles in the relationship and I wasn’t expecting the twists

It was really good! I hope the momentum continues and that the third book doesn't become slow to read.
