Loved! BUT Millie carried this book
The “3” way romance was great! Loved Millie/Katherine opening up emotionally and physically to Reid. While I don’t feel Reid was really main character like

I liked the book fine but didn’t love it. To be fair, I’m not really a fan of the whole hidden identity on an online platform trope (I don’t know what’s the called but like what happened in A Cinderella Story). I’m also not the biggest fan of friends to lovers. Don’t get me wrong I can still really love a friends to lovers but I find that to be harder for authors to nail in my opinion. I liked the group of friends and thought the “join a dating app to get a date for this event” part of the plot was fun but wish that it had been a little more flushed out and that we actually got to see the event happen. Not my favorite Christina Lauren book but also not my least favorite!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️

I could not put this book down! I read it in just a few hours and was OBSESSED. It was such a modern take on romance and the dating world we live in. I am so happy I picked this book up and added it to my personal library! I have been recommending it ever since I finished it!

Snuck this one in because I needed a short(er) audiobook. I'm glad I did!

What I Did Like:
-Friends to lovers. This is a trope I’m a HUGE fan of. It worked in this story in great ways and paid off like I expected it to.
-Found family. This group of friends is GREAT and I adored the way they interacted with each other. I even loved the way the “misunderstanding” in the romance affected the entire cast. Wonderfully written friendship.
-Imperfect characters. I’ve said before that my biggest pet peeve about romance novels is when everyone is perfect. It was nice to see that change in this book (although arguably Reid was a bit too perfect). Millie was flawed and working on those flaws. I loved her for that.

Who Should Read This One:
-Romantic comedy fans, for sure! This’ll be your new favorite.
-People who like contemporary stories. At the end of the day this one is really a story about Millie learning to open up and that’s a great contemporary story.

My Rating: 5 Stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and I truly think contemporary fans and romance fans will dig this one. Look, I can enjoy a romance when you dump all the toxic tropes!
