A letdown compared to the rest of the series. Maybe it was because we’d just finished watching The Tunnel—a police drama where the investigating duo’s relationship stays compelling without ever veering into the romantic—but I just wasn’t interested in Strike and Robin’s will-they-or-won’t-they dynamic.

FINALLY. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

I love Cormoran and Robin, their characters are beautiful in their flaws as well as their strengths. I really wish we had more novels out faster because I could read them one right after the other and never get tired of the characters or their stories.

The writing, as always, is awesome. Another story to keep the reader hooked from page 1.

I agree that the book was a bit convoluted but the main characters are so interesting and real that I enjoyed every bit of it.

The book expired and it took me a while to get it back on my phone to finish. It was a good story and interesting plot. A little convoluted in places and I am getting pretty tired of robin always being the character in peril. I didn't find it the best of the bunch, but I certainly enjoyed the ride.

The best Strike novel yet. I am tempted to dock a star for the annoying Ross-and-Rachel plotline, but I enjoyed this so much I'm gonna give it a pass. Terrific plotting, wonderful support characters. Robin gets more interesting; she's clearly the star of the series.

I love these books so much! I hope she keeps on writing them.

I bumped this down a star only because I was annoyed that romance ended up sparking between the two main characters. I'm tired of that trope. Honestly, I think it was much more believeable that they operated so well as friends/partners. Otherwise, still a good read.
