Love the protagonist and her love interest Vor. Solid world-building. Love her abilities as well as the tension between Vor and her.

Not quite a 4 star but im rounding it up and the way this book has set the story up, im sure to like the second more- I just need more of the romance elements and a bit more spice!

I loved it. Faraine has an interesting power- sensing others' emotions. It was very intriguing and I liked the romance between her and Vor. This book was very captivating and I like that it switches off between Faraine's and Vor's first person perspectives. I also liked Hael, Sul, and Lyria.
Though Faraine is mainly a pawn being moved by others, she does hold her own during difficult times. She's not one to just sit there and wait to be saved, but she acts. I do wish there was more action on her part, though, since it's mainly her father the king who chooses where she goes.

The story didn't go as far down the timeline as I wanted, and it felt like the main characters illness was more plot excuse than anything else. However all the other characters were well developed and there's some seeds of very good ideas in here. It was an interesting read and I will read the next one if I come across it.
