Kandi Steiner

Kandi is so inconsistent for me.
I kept asking myself: what the fuck is Will bringing to the table besides telling Chloe she's hot? Not to sound like a redditor (but Kandi literally stuck a stupid Reddit sub plot in for no reason so I will sound how I want), but he got a bangmaid. Someone to watch his child and keep his house clean and who lets him fuck her. I don't know what he liked about Chloe.  Will acted like an immature baby the entire book then he says he loves her in front of her man-hating mom and grandmother and suddenly it's okay. Make it make sense.

OK, so since this is like the first book, I’ve read in way too long. I think my answer to this was a 4 like it was really good. The only reason is not five is because there was some things that I really didn’t like like an example of that would be the use of the “Daddy” in some context that I just don’t think they should’ve been used for in the fact that he growled and kind of went nonverbal during the book like I know that he’s supposed to be grumpy, loving interest, but it was kind of annoying and the big celebration about him laughing was in my opinion just stupid but you guys don’t understand books dynamics. Overall, I really liked it, and I may read the other books from the series. I’ll definitely read the next one if it’s Alex’s book because he was my favourite character in this book

Here’s the thing about Kandi’s books like I love them but there is something not fully there for me when it comes to her writing. Like she’s really out here talking all kinds of sports lingo & at that point I’m skimming my dude. I don’t know & I don’t care.

WHAT I LOVE IS THE ROMANCE PLOT OK that’s all I care about. This was pretty great for a nanny/single dad trope. There were elements of it that I felt were cringey & just not for me.

But the SPICE

Kandi Steiner did it again!
Thank you for getting me out of my reading slump AGAIN
It was SO GOOD!

I was so reluctant and I thought I would not end up reading this book as I’m not a huge fan of the trope single dad/nanny as it always gives me the hick and I usually end up hurrying to finish reading even if I like the writing… (I also think one should not give bad rating/review if one doesn’t like a specific genre/trope)
BUT with this one, let me tell you: I ate it all up in one go.

For me, it was the best of the series: the writing is on top
It felt it in my core: rawness of the characters, their vulnerability...
AND as a hockey fan, I do love reading a hockey romance with actual hockey moments in it.

I KNEW I’d love Daddy P. But Chloe and Ava and Chef had me smiling basically from page 1 to end.

Loved this grumpy-sunshine hockey romance about Will and Chloe. Will (Daddy P) has a small daughter and his nanny is a “no-show.” Chloe, the kindergarten teacher, saves the day and brings her to Will’s practice… Although the hockey grump doesn’t see it that way. Will is such a hot, grumpy, groveling MMC! Definitely a slow-burn, but the SPICE is worth the wait! Loved this by Kandi Steiner!

Thank you to Valentine PR and Kandi for this ARC!

This hockey series is becoming one of my favorites and if you love a single dad and nanny then this is for you!

Chloe is a sunshiney kindergarten teacher who helps Daddy P with his daughter. When he asks her to nanny and move in she decides to try it for extra money. The forced proximity and Chloe’s energy causes the two to begin a benefits relationship. They’re not friends but he’s teaching her about what she likes because of her not being very experienced.

Of course she makes the grumpy dad and his daughter smile and brings them so much love! Chloe is strong and comes from strong women.

Check TW but there is mention of loss of a parent (Daddy P was married and lost his wife).

I’m so excited for the next in this series!
