Honestly I teetered between 4.75 and 5 for this one for a while - let me explain. He drinks a glass of MILK? PLAIN? Jail. I’m sorry. But THEN, you have 3 cats in the book… so it 100% makes up for it. If there’s a hot cat dad it’s probably gonna end up with 5 stars, let’s be real.

This was my favorite book in this series so far. Is it because of the cats? Will’s dirty mouth? Adorable child? Hockey romance? God there are so many things that I love about this book I don’t think I can choose why.

I’m minorly scared of how much I relate to Chloe, I don’t want to go in depth, but I’m sure if you read some of my highlighted quotes you’ll see why. She’s an FMC I see myself in, though I do have a lovely, wonderful boyfriend. Ignoring that, her homebody nature really just called to me.

I love everyone here. CAN I PLEASE GET A GOLF CLAP FOR CHEF?? One of the best side characters in all of romantic fiction, I said what I said. Love of my life. Queen.

I did read this book in one sitting, I simply could not stop. Nor did I want to. Final rating is an absolute 5 star, and now I have to wait far too long for Save Your Breath.

I loved Will. There wasn’t necessarily a 3rd act breakup in this one which thank god. Will is an nhl hockey player who’s wife died and he is now a single dad to his father Ava. Chloe starts as Ava’s nanny and obviously Ava loves her. She lives in the guest house and her and Will keep having these almost moments until they both agree to keep things strictly physical, no kissing. We obviously know how that goes.. Will becomes Chloe’s ~coach~ bc she’s not super experienced.

It was sweet to have them bring up things the daughters mom liked to do so that she felt connected to the mom she never knew.

I am so grateful I got the chance to ARC read this book. Who doesnt love a grump x sunshine relationship, plus single dad/nanny (nanny is also the little girls teacher) but throw in a mini grumpy little girl who is like her father. Say less take my money!!! This book was so cute, the FMC being anti-love with very anti-love mom and grandmother, who happens to have 3 asshole cats. I loved this book so much and not often when the kid is also grumpy and honestly it was the cutest thing to read as well. I can not wait to check out the other books in this series and to check out the next hockey boy who will be next!! All spicy lessons, auto win in my book we love a man who shows his girl how to be confident with themselves!!
