I have been reading Kandi’s books for years and years- this might be my favorite.
With the flood of hockey romance hitting the shelves, I didn’t have high hopes for this because I didn’t even review the last two. They felt like boxes checked or just releases for the sake of hitting a quota.
Daddy P delivered. This felt well rounded and flushed out. This book could stand on its own and wasn’t just a device to support the rest of the series. This gave us Chloe and she is one of the most likable MFCs we’ve seen in a minute.
Single dad
Nanny
Bedroom coach
Grumpy Sunshine
Forced Proximity
Dad is in a bind because his nanny’s keep using his kid to get to him. Kindergarten teacher agrees to help on her own conditions. She doesn’t change herself to be his “type” and it opens his daughter and himself up.
Also, Chef is the most precious thing ever and I want THAT story!

Story made sense. I thought some lines were kinda blunt and weird. Progression was alright but I didn’t fall in love with the MCs. Smut was not my cup of tea so I stopped :)

Couldn’t connect to characters and they lacked emotional depth/chemistry
This very well may be my favorite Kandi Steiner book yet!
I absolutely LOVED Will Perry in the first two books and boy did I fall more in love with him while reading Learn Your Lesson!
This book hit pretty close to home for me with how Ava’s mom passed as I too had the same issues after having a child. I was also a preschool teacher for many years and the moments of Chloe with her students or talking about her job brought me back to some fond memories from my years of teaching.
The way Chloe brought living back into Will and Ava’s lives was so beautifully written and it seemed so simple for her because she was simply just being herself.
I adored the pieces of the side characters we got to see and I can’t wait for the next book😍
Also, the popsicle scene, phew🥵
5/5⭐️
2.5/5🌶️
