I loved the premise of this. It had such promise. And then it started to slip down the further I read. The MC got really whiney. Like I understand why she ran, but once she knew what was happening, like why was she still so annoying. I really liked the MMC, he was the reason I kept reading. He was so open and honest always. And she was so frustratingly stubborn. This felt a bit like a reverse twilight, but without the laughs. And yet, somehow I was still suckered into reading the sequel.
DNF. The writing was repetitive throughout the entire book; I found myself getting bored and skimming a lot. The characters were unlikable and I didn't see any growth from the FMC, who remained extremely immature and assumptive. Additionally, the author's writing style did not appeal to me.

2.5 stars. It was okay, other than a few minor editing errors. There was too much repetition/reiteration of things communicated earlier in the book. And the one sex scene sucked! The author literally stopped any description once he first enters her and takes her virginity! Then she summarizes that they had sex for hours and the MC got on her knees for him to see what is was like, well what WAS it like??? Who knows, it’s never described! If you’re going to do a sex scene then do a WHOLE fucking scene! Because of that I won’t continue with the series.
Cute fast read!
Read this all in one day. Cute read, enjoyed it a lot! Love the rejected mate -> grovel trope. Just wish there was a bit more romance - wooing from the MMC.

Rejected/ 2nd chance, low spice, skimmed to the end, ehh
nice quick read
It was a quick read, interesting idea and story line! There were some fun nuances within the story and light world building. The writing kinda pulled me out, in the sense I wanted to pull out a pen and edit it. There were some odd phrasing, alluding to things to build suspense but just left me confused and repeating facts/emotions/conversations numerous times. It would take me out of the story, but not so bad that I stopped reading (even if I was close).

First thought: this books is very repetitive. Especially at the beginning.
The whole “she’s a rare alpha female pretending to be an soft, meek omega” was repeated shoved down our throats the whole first half of the book, I nearly DNF’d it right then and there.
That and the fact that everything is over-explained, repeatedly, but in different ways.
And the fact that the whole plot of this book is based on a communication issue is just… ugh. Gemma just needed to shut up and let the man speak and this whole this could’ve been avoided.
And Wicked Wolf Walker? I cannot take the name seriously for someone who’s supposed to be a villain.
