Another great book in this series. This one was a little lighter, I thought. It was almost like the criminal wasn't even trying not to hide how green they were.
I missed some of the main characters. This one mainly just had Peabody, Eve, and Roarke. We had small parts with others, but the book didn't use them much.
I'm excited to read the next one, though. :)

Books like this you read when you have tons of assignments to do. Somehow it makes you not want to care about them(the assignments).
Reading this through again this one just doesn’t have that sparkle. It’s pretty similar to one that she had done earlier in the series, and though it is a new story, it doesn’t feel like one. I wish that Robb would do one or two more with the paranormal aspect. I think that she has only touched on it twice, and it’s like a whole aspect of her world that she again has only briefly looked into. Well anyways this is a book that if you are still reading this series is another fun fast bathtub reader

Another book in the series, what I want is for the characters to move forward. The murder mysteries almost became the side story in a good chunk of this series and I miss the people and how they meet connect and interact. I also kinda want Eve to get knocked up.
Though a Peabody and McNab marriage wouldn't hurt, or Eve baby sitting Bella, or SOMETHING
blerg, sorry not really about this book but it's just how I am feeling about the series in general.
If you've read the others you'll read this one too and enjoy.

Even with all the side stuff happening, I found this book boring. The case was not interesting to me at all
Calculated in Death
3.5 Stars
Eve and her team investigate the murder of an auditor whose death appears at first to be the result of a botched mugging. The evidence soon reveals that she was deliberately targeted, but which one of her clients was corrupt enough to kill.
This is one of the weaker installments in the series for several reasons. First, readers never get a solid feel for the victim. Yes, she was a beloved wife and a devoted mother, but she is very one dimensional, and it is difficult to summon up the emotional investment to really care about her demise.
Second, the suspect pool is limited making it easy to narrow down the culprit. Moreover, most of them are so obnoxious that any one of them would do. Furthermore, the fact that the nasty characters are all.
Third, the financial aspects are mind-numbingly dull and my attention wandered whenever the money issues were raised. Given the nature of the crime, this occurred quite often.
Nevertheless, there are some engaging moments, especially Eve's ongoing love/hate relationship with Summerset, Peabody's excellent acting skills, and Galahad's affront at Eve's betrayal with another feline - shame on her!
Overall, not one of the best, but still a good read.
