I read the first book more than a year ago and had some trouble finding back into the story and the justification of various characters, but otherwise I liked it quite well.

I'm a big fan of Madame LeFoux. I'd like a series about her adventures and her various inventions.
funny lighthearted mysterious relaxing medium-paced

I got around to reading "Changeless" about a year after I read "Soulless," and while it was an enjoyable read, it didn't quite live up to the expectations I had while reading "Soulless." I loved the concept of a preternatural -- one who negates the "super" in supernatural -- and the character of Alexia is still compelling, but the plot drags a bit in places. Since the ending was a big cliff-hanger, I'll definitely be reading "Blameless" (and let's be honest, I'll probably read numbers 4 and 5, too).

Interesting development.

This book was as good as, if not better than, the opening novel to the Parasol Protectorate series, Soulless.

I picked this up at the bookstore for a fast read. It had everything I like in an easy read: alt reality, vampires, werewolves and Victorian mystery. Oh, and this would fall into the steampunk genre too. All in all a great easy read.

Perfect Sunday read for my tired state. Neglected to take quotes.
