What do you get when you combine The ultimate diva with being soulness socialite and being married to a werewolf? You get a story that is utter drool. Complete waste of my life in reading this nonsense. Not a good start to the month of June. Simply terrible.
Hurt my heart at the end to see two of my favorite characters have such a row. Conall and Alexia are so made for each other and I took it so personally, I wanted to jump in the pages and slap the bejesus out of that werewolf. And a word to the wise: Buy the paperback. The ebook seems to be missing some parts of the story.
Alexi is now Lady Maccon and living withher husband's pack. There's a strange occurence in London : all supernaturals are lsoing theit power and Alexia has nothing to do with it. Also, she has to follow her husband to Scotland to investigate further...
I loved loved loved it! Dare I say even better than the first one! Alexia is still her witty self and her relationship with Lord Maccon is a joy to read. But the end! I can't wait for the next book now. Luckily it's coming out in september so there won't be too long to wait ^_^
These books are so much fun to read! It's completly original and you get sucked in the story so fast, you never want to get out of it...

Nice sequel. A lot of times after marriage characters change drastically, but there was none of that nonsense in this one. I loved getting to see more of everybody, and learning more about Alexia's powers.
This is the second in a series which must be read in order
After enjoying Soulless and the prequel novellas, I was excited to settle into the second book of the series. But then my interest in it dragged because the storyline seemed slow to develop and I had the disappointing feeling that the plot would all lead up to a big reveal of something I had figured out early in the book.
So I was awfully startled to find that it ended in such a cliffhanger!
It’s best to view this as a bridging book between the first and third in the series rather than a story that exists on its own. We’re introduced to characters but nothing much happens beyond setting up the next book. Go into it prepared and it will be a more pleasurable read.

I gave it four stars instead of five because it ends with a cliffhanger and my library's copy of the next book is checked out!
I love Gail Carriger's writing. It's like a combination of Jane Austen and Douglas Adams. For example:
Ivy was particularly adept at being ignorant but could cause extensive havoc with the smallest scrap of information.
Or:
The dirigible came to rest as lightly as a butterfly on an egg, if the butterfly were to stumble a bit and list heavily to one side and the egg to take on the peculiar characteristics of Scotland in winter: more soggy and more gray than one would think possible.
I love Alexia, the feisty heroine, Lord Akeldama, her flamboyantly gay vampire pal, Lord Maccon, her hot werewolf husband, and Ivy, her best friend who is cursed with a dreadful taste in hats.
