The first book was better but i think it still has promise due to a twist at the end...
Funny, witty, and quite the roller-coaster of a story. Looking forward to book #3.
I liked this (though not as much as the first one) until the very end, where it abruptly veers off into WTF territory. I'll probably still pick up the sequel when it comes out, though.
Closer to three but not quite. I liked Alexia and Maccon's interactions the most but the story dragged for too long and some issues were not handled as well as I wanted. One's sexuality should not be a plot point. The villain never convinced me as such and the suspense sequence towards the end was watered down with silly events that didn't manage to come out as spontaneous but rather staged. Also, the ending was too rushed and the big reveal totally expected.
Much like Soulless (the first book in this series), Changeless was fun, witty, and generally enjoyable. This isn't a great work of literature, but if you want a fun, steam punk, mystery, fantasy novel, with a strong and intelligent female lead, and writing that doesn't patronize the reader than this is a great book to read.
Again I've been listening to the audio books at the gym, similarly I think the series would make for great vacation reading, or just something fun and light to read in one's spare time.
Finally as I mentioned in my first review the mystery based fantasy or sci-fi novel is a genre that I want to like more, but so many of them are just so packed with misogyny, or just really poorly written representations of women, that I can't get through them. This series has been one of the few exceptions I've found.

Drama at the end definitely causes the reader to want to jump right into the next one!
Better than Souless! Had me guessing to the end!
These books are incredibly entertaining. I think I liked the second book better than the first, but only because I already knew all the characters and could just jump into the story. I love the humor, and the fun that the author infuses into these books. Would definitely recommend. Note: for my more conservative friends, there is some language and sex in these books. I wouldn't call it offensive, but thought I would include that in the review. :0)
