Loved it, just as entertaining as the first one, if not even better. Madame Lefoux is a great addition to the characters, and I can't wait to see how her relationship with Alexia will evolve (I'd be happy with pretty much any outcome).
Started reading the next book as soon as I finished this one, I just couldn't bear leaving this universe!

This series has a fantastic world structure which makes a lot of sense (amount of soul = supernaturalness), and the characters are fun to read, almost parodying the Jane Austen lifestyle in quirkiness. I really enjoyed this installment, but the author got a bit too into the description of the aethographic machine. I can appreciate all the effort in making this very steampunk and trying to paint that picture; so I might be being nitpicky. It ends on a big cliffhanger too, so third book is in the mail to me already!
This volume makes me want to go back and re-read the [b:Etiquette & Espionage|10874177|Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1)|Gail Carriger|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1331952557s/10874177.jpg|15789500] series and spend time with young Sidheag.
Interesting twist in this addition and a cliff hanging ending.
Lots of fun! I loved Madame Lefoux (especially !), and the continuation of the worldbuilding. I was wondering if they were going to go where the ending did - it should make book 3 interesting.
Spoiler
when she turned out to be a lesbian and NOT evil
That ending was quite unexpected. I am fit to be tied! Onto book #3 . . .
