This book had a profound affect on me through Charlie's emotional journey of finding, the losing intelligence. It made me think more deeply about the concept of IQ and the it's link with personality. This story raises questions about the ethics of scientific experimentation and if being smart is all it's cracked up to be. Would recommend.

despite being written in the 50’s, much of this book still holds up and its core themes unfortunately are still relevant today. I thought it was at its strongest in its portrayal of Charlie’s childhood as well as its critiques of not just the violent behavior he faces but also the pity. I can’t truly give it five starts because there are some elements that have aged but overall it still has a powerful message that makes you reflect on how our world views and treats disabled people.

My favorite read of the year so far. Narration of the audiobook was amazing. A story I will definitely come back to. So many layers and things to examine.
