The plot of this book had soooo much potential. It got really muddy with the confusing politics, races, and language. Like those three things made this book really hard to read.
This was one of those books where i’d have to read the paragraph 3 times just to understand what the fuck was even happening, and the way it just jumps from scene to scene was so clunky. It was like impossibly to keep up.

This was a pretty good read! Lots of stuff happening. Too much maybe. A lot of perspectives. So much happening in everyone’s internal worlds that sometimes it’s really hard to follow what’s happening in the outside world. I feel like there’s a concept of a complex world here that is hard to grasp because we don’t really spend any time out in it. But there was enough outside plot, the gore was gory, the romance hit me right in the tropes, and the spice was hot, so I’m here for it.

On to the major point I followed the author through their journey on their instagram up until they published it. I had very high hopes and I was not disappointed. I read the entire book in a day when. It has so much depth to the story and the right amount of smut and plot. I genuinely can’t wait for Honey(the second book) to come out.
Now for the part of the review when I remind everyone to look up Trigger Warnings before reading this is a dark fantasy romance so there are some themes that may be unsuitable for some readers.
