Cyrus is what keeps me reading because there remains so little that actually happens in these books to move any of the plot forward. I think this book takes place over only a week or so?? Ridiculous.
Spoiler warning: I very much hate that we learn Cyrus is in love with Alizeh entirely because he’s been having dreams about her for months unless we will eventually learn more about the dreams in future books. I also don’t love the plot device of “I am forbidden from telling you” in order to keep so many things a secret because there’s no other reason these things would be secret.

Just vibes. The ending has me hooked.
This was SUCH A GOOD SEQUEL oh my gosh. I hate to just be that gushing reviewer, but I can’t help it. Taherah’s writing is just so engaging! I have a lot of hard shit going on in my personal life, and it takes a lot for a book to suck me in, but as usual Taherah’s writing just effortlessly does so. CanNOT wait for book three.
Does anyone know who they’re rooting for anymore? I wasn’t expecting to empathize with Cyrus so much?!🫢🥺
